Second part of my Most Worn Summer Products Tag, the makeup part! As I said before, I have really pared down my makeup collection for my overseas trip. We never really do monthly favorites here because we’re both really boring and don’t revolve favorites really, our favorites have earned their titles after rigorous testing and they are seldom knocked from their pedastels. I don’t trust people who have have a new Best Product Ever every week because I think it’s hard to gauge how great a product works unless you’ve been using it for more than well.. a week. Enough ranting:
Wet n Wild Color Icon Palette “Baked, not Fried” $4.99 - Review & Swatches Here - Such a great investment, I love this dearly and it’s given me a profound appreciation for neutrals. I’ve been wearing neutrals a lot this summer, and this palette is a godsend. Very glad I purchased it when I could. I prefer it over my Naked 2 Palette honestly, the N2 is a bit too cold for me, but this matches my skin great.
L’Oreal True Match Powder in Classic Ivory $8.99 - I have 3 or 4 other powders at home, but I use this pretty much exclusively. Nothing much to write home about, it blots up the oil, finishes up any makeup I put on and I only reapply once a day.
Dermablend Quick Fix Concealer $22 - Longtime PD readers will remember this (and a few other products here too) because it’s in every. single. favorites post I ever. do. Go read about it in the dermablend tag.
Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse BB SPF 25 PA++ $32 - Also a PD standby, you can read more about my feelings about it here. It’s my favorite BB cream, it provides coverage and moisturizes more than others I’ve tried and is just the  best ever.
Maybelline 24 Hr Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze - Review & Swatches Here - Really, really love this, I have a more bold color from this line but I think the all over application I tend to do with this kind of eyeshadow (kind of creamy…ish, like MAC paint pots) lends itself better to neutral shades like this Bronze. I use it either on it’s own without primer, or as primer with my Wet n’ Wild eyeshadow shades.
Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion $19 - Also a longtime PD favorite. I’ve just purchased a different eyeliner in Asia though because while I love this forever, I’m getting tired of wrenching it open because after a few months it just doesn’t close 100%. It’s still wet, black, and wonderful, but opening it is a pain. I’m trying out some felt tip pens at the moment.
Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop $7.49 - Chi-Chi has fawned over the Lip Butters on PD numerous occasions, here and here are her swatches. I’m pretty sure she has almost all of the colors???! I only have this one but I’ll pick up another one soon, I really like this one. It is super moisturizing and adds a pop of color. I’m not usually a fan of lippies with a little shimmer but I’m surprisingly fond of this.

Hi~ A quite delayed response to someone’s question about what our favorite ‘summer red’ lipsticks were - Arabelle posted her favorites here.

  1. Eros: NYX Round Lipstick ($2-4) - As Arabelle mentioned in her favorite post, these are some of our favorite drugstore lipsticks (along with the Lip Perfection lipsticks) and these lipsticks have been swatched to finish and beyond. The colors are hits and misses with a lot of similar shades, but in general they are really nice. This is my favorite orange-based red.
  2. Red Velvet/910D: Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color ($2) - This was a recent addition to my lipstick collection, but I was so pleasantly surprised that I had to mention it. This is a ‘traditional’ blue-based red with really nice wear. …it wore five hours on me before starting to wear off. :O I will say that if you have a problem with dry lips or your lips easily chap, you might want to steer away from this product. My lips are usually okay with just about everything, and this formula dries them out badly without a good lip balm.
  3. Classy Coral/Q500: CoverGirl Queen Collection Lipcolor Lipstick ($6-7) - I hesitated in including this color, because it’s just on the border of not being red, but eh. This is a more terracotta red with some brown undertones, and it’s a more business casual, work-appropriate red for the daytime. It also has the same wear time and formula as my other Lip Perfection lipsticks from the CoverGirl line.
Dat haul for under 35 dollars!
This is yet another Chi-Chi stepped into a drugstore and used coupons and in-store deals to get great savings (the sequel to this haul). The week I purchased all of this stuff, CVS had amazing in-store sales and for once there were tons of coupons that coincided perfectly with everything I was thinking of getting (and more). Again, thanks to Nouveau Cheap for alerting me to the majority of the sales that week. I’m serious, PD followers, one of the only blogs I will check everyday, and not just for deals. Anyway. I picked up…
Maybelline Fit Me! Liquid SPF 18 Foundation in Caramel 350 | link: I have heard tons of mixed reviews about this foundation, but I’ve wanted to try it for myself (and it ended up being a little less than 3 dollars). If I dislike, doesn’t hurt the wallet too bad, right? ;D (edit: I tried this foundation and I now completely understand the negative side of all of the reviews of this product. It starts out great for the first forty five minutes…and then within the second hour of wear it starts to melt off. Completely. …..three hours pass by and I can’t even tell I put anything on. And it wasn’t even humid when I tried it! So disappoint -_-)
Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24Hr Eyeshadow in Fierce & Tangy (10) and Edgy Emerald (50) | link: I love my neutral ones and I wasn’t really planning on getting any other colors, but the combination of the deals, coupons and more ExtraCare dollars meant that I now have these two. I love orange so I am really excited. And emerald, blue and gold? Beautiful. I got both for a little over 10 dollars + $3 ExtraCare dollars!
Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil in Black (01) and Brown (05) | link: I have always wanted these pencils in my collection. They are some of the best drugstore eyeliners on the market right now (we posted our recommendations for drugstore eyeliners here) and I’m really excited! Both for 10 dollars so not too bad.
L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Waterproof Mascara in Black (670) | link: I have always had great luck with L’Oreal mascaras, so I decided to try this formula. Got waterproof because my eyes are like Niagara Falls sometimes. It was on sale at CVS and there was a coupon so I got it for $4.99.
Wet n Wild LE Flora Collection: Okay this I did not really plan to get but I was about to leave and I looked up and I was like :OO LE Wet n Wild collection? I MUST PURCHASE. And there were two color sets to choose from so I got the one that included orange (do you see a theme here). It was $3.50 after coupons.
Moral of the story is, watch your circulars and clip those coupons!! And enjoy your savings. Happy hauling PD and as always, drop an ask if you want additional pictures or a review. High-res

Hey powderdoom. :D Here’s the second part of my first haul of 2012…featuring Wet n Wild! (and Black Radiance) Apparently I really wanted eyeshadows this month so now I have eyeshadows to last me a very long time. …this haul combined with the five L’Oreal Infallible Shadows…*sigh* No purchasing eyeshadow for the next month at least for me! That said, here’s what I got.
  • Wet n’ Wild I ♥ Matte Palette: OH MY GOSH PD I CANNOT BELIEVE I FOUND THIS ARABELLE AND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS PALETTE FOREVER AND I FOUND IT AND I SHED A COUPLE TEARS OF JOY. …capslock was needed this is such an amazing palette with beautiful colors and it’s all matte colors and there were two so I bought one for Arabelle and we both wept tears of joy.
  • Black Radiance Downtown Browns Palette: Arabelle showed me pictures of this palette a couple days ago and I fell in love because neutrals and I must own all neutral palettes and colors in the universe. I went to one of the bigger Walgreens in my area and was very surprised to find it! Black Radiance and Wet n’ Wild are owned by the same company so I’m expecting awesome quality.
  • Wet n’ Wild Megashield Lip Color SPF 15 in That’s Berry Beautiful (368S): I was about to leave the Walgreens where I passed a display that had all of the new Wet n Wild nail polishes, and since I still can’t buy anymore nail polishes for some time (I bought all of the Ice Baby collection last year - NO REGRETS), I decided to pick this up. I honestly didn’t even know these existed…are these new? #badbeautyblogger
  • Wet n’ Wild Coloricon Palettes in Baked not Fried, Baking a Cake, and Bake Off Contest: …they were 50% off at the Walgreens closest to where I worked so I picked them all up. After Arabelle’s awesome positive review on Baked not Fried, I knew that I wanted that one because neutrals and I do need all the neutrals, but then they were such a good deal so I picked up the rest.

And as always, want to see swatches or reviews of any of these products? Don’t hesitate to drop us an ask! Toodles~

Chi-Chi’s impulse haulage the other day compelled me to stop by Walgreens after a disappointing trip to MAC and MUJI (for acrylic storage for my makeup. They were sold out, unsurprisingly) and I kinda went over the top lol. Granted, one of those palettes is for Chi-Chi, UD sent me the Naked2 to review, and Chi-Chi sent me 3 of those polishes for XMas… so I didn’t go tooo berserk. I think I spent less than $20 in total actually.

    • I got: Wet n’ Wild Color Icon Nail Colors in Rockin Rubies, Diamond in the Rough, and Believe Me, It’s Real (the red, silver, and blue colors). $2.99 each. Chi-Chi and I uhm… really like this collection. We both purchased almost every color released. ^___^ NO REGRETS JUST POLISH.
    • Wet n’ Wild Limited Edition Coloricon Eyekits in Baked, Not Fried and Baking a Cake. $4.99 each (I think). I’m so excited to try these out, I’ve seen swatches of them everywhere and was so happy to have found them! One is for Chi-Chi but if I like the one I’m keeping I’ll go out and buy the rest.
    • Revlon Lipgloss in Decadent. ($6.99) I returned a Limecrime gloss — more on that later — and decided to try this out instead to compare. I’m on a purple kick.
    • Cheap ass lashes from ebay for $1.25 (w free shipping). Just to play around with, you know how it is.

Let me know if you want swatches and/or reviews of specific products immediately or not, etc, so I know what to prioritize! ^_^♥ K bye.

Everything I used for this look.

FOTD; Drugstore Edition & Mini Reviews

Chi-Chi and I send each other XMAS gifts every year, this year she got me some drugstore stuff I’ve been drooling over including this Wet n’ Wild Palette. I decided to do today’s makeup using it and some other drugstore makeup I have in my stash.

    • Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 110 Ivory - I actually hate this foundation so much (Chi-Chi does too), it isn’t right for my skin at the moment, it being for Combo/Oily skin and my skin being on the dry side, but even when my skin is oily I hate it because it tends to just sit on your skin. It just sits there! I mean it blends out nicely enough with my stippling brush but I feel like it oxidizes strangely and it looks terrible in natural sunlight. I also hate that it doesn’t have a pump: I hate when foundations don’t have pumps. It’s unhygienic and wasteful and messy. I don’t use drugstore foundation anymore and this is why.
    • E.L.F Lash & Brow Clear Mascara
    • Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer - I’m really pissed they discontinued this to be honest, it was and still is the best drugstore concealer out there, and one of my HG products in general. I’m scraping the remnants from it right now. I’m gonna buy more on ebay and stock up. WHY DID YOU DISCONTINUE THIS PRODUCT MAYBELLINE???? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME??
    • Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in 20
    • Wet n’ Wild I Dream of Greenie Palette - I used it as it directed. I love this palette, it’s super pigmented and comparable to my INGLOT and Sugarpill shadows. Blends well, little to no fallout. So good! I especially love the browbone color, it is amazing for highlighting your inner corners. I used the applicators that came with it and a q-tip and my eyes came out perfectly fine. No brushes needed.
    • Maybelline Coral Gleam Lipstick, with Revlon Siren applied lightly over it.
    • Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperliner in Glamorous Thief - Ok so I cheated, this is not a drugstore liner, but everything else is leave me alone!!!
Seriously been obsessing over this Wet n’ Wild Matte Palette. Chi-Chi and I have been feeling really emotional over holiday releases this season, we seriously have never been this excited for releases…ever???! I think I’m going to end up buying the entire Ice Baby collection just like Chi-Chi did (she did buy some of those for me though, bahaha)…. makeup obsessed.  High-res

You know those times when you see a collection and hope it’s in your area (but kind of hope that it’s not because you don’t really need to spend any money anyway) and when you find it you marvel at the fact that it looks even more gorgeous in person and decide to buy all of it?
…yeah? >.>
/look at these polishes/ I bought all of the Wet n’ Wild Ice Baby collection today!!!!!!
I REGRET NOTHING High-res
