What's the benefit of a lip tar as opposed to other kinds of lip cosmetics? I'm desperate for a bright bright red stain or something similar that won't get on everything ever, but MUFE Aqua Rouge flakes off immediately and the Revlon stains do the same. Would a lip tar be a good answer for long wear? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Yeah try the lip tar — Harlot is the brightest red they have and it’s truly obnoxiously bright, I love it. I mean, I talk about lip tar / we talk about lip tar like, all the time and convert all our friends to it it’s like we’re a broken record! What makes me a lip tar devotee is that you need very, very little, and it isn’t drying. It’s more of a liquid lipstick that dries matte than a lip stain, but it lasts as long as a lip stain. I usually get about 6-8 hours of wear with one application (even while eating and drinking). I don’t think I’ve ever gotten lip stain on anything once it’s dried (when you first apply it’s glossy). I know what you mean about flaking, that happens to me to with some lip stains, but it’s never happened with a lip tar in my experience. The only negative I can say about lip tars is that sometimes you have to shake them up before applying, as they can separate in the packaging if you don’t use them for awhile.

Basically just try it and you’ll see why we’re both obsessed.

Here is what I ended up bringing home with me from the OCC event I went to the other night. I regret not buying more, but I’ve honestly completely shattered my budget for the month — the last two months, actually — and it’s only been like, less than 2 weeks into the new year. So I’m going to have to punish myself with a No Buy until at least February. I can wait until IMATS NYC until I haul more from OCC. I’ve got my eye on pretty much half of the loose pigments.

The glitter I purchased looks shitty in these swatches, but I swear it looks like unicorn snot or like, a little glitter rainbow. I’m obsessed and can’t wait to use it. I swatched it twice in my last OCC post too, actually, you can go see better swatches in that one. Technically it’s not FDA approved for use in the eye area — no glitter is, only loose pigments — but I don’t….really….care.  ノ^□^)ノ ~

Swatches of random loose pigments from the OCC / Femme Realness event the other night. I am SO OBSESSED with how beautiful their products are, I had to restrain myself from going SKDJADALDAD with my credit card. I’m sorry I can’t give you the names of these shadows I swatched, I picked randomly. Oh well! I’ll show you what I actually ended up purchasing and a FOTD using the products in another post.

I went to OCC today, they were hosting a party for a femme group I’m part of and we got 20% off and cupcakes and there were raffles and a bunch of cool stuff! Here are some lip tars I tried on (and purchased, OBVI). More photos, swatches, and a haul post on the way soon.
